About Us

Our Story

In July of 2019, Antonius Roberts was invited by Camille Benton, in her capacity as chief curator of the American Embassy, to create a Sacred Space inspired art installation for the new Campus in the Bahamas. For this project, Roberts was charged with the task of repurposing a silk cotton tree that could not be saved.

The magnitude of the tree required a storage site to be secured and in acquiring more space than needed on the formerly Holiday ICE Ltd site, Project I.C.E was conceived.

Project I.C.E is Roberts’ expansion of both art and science projects developed in his career and a continuation of his modus operandi of transforming and restoring spaces.

“I.C.E’s philosophy hopes to foster unique collaborative opportunities; stimulate the creation of cutting-edge jobs; and increase the sustainability of the Bahamian creative economy in regional and global markets” -Antonius Roberts

Only 5 months after breaking ground last August, Incubator for Collaborative Expression has become a beacon of change for many innovators, creative thinkers, and S.T.E.A.M advocates.

Project I.C.E is a rapidly evolving project. We are a work in progress, assembling a collective of diverse and like minded creatives, to revolutionize collaboration within the Bahamas and the world at large.

Our Vision

I.C.E as a platform

It intends to provide a hub for creatives thinkers to develop working solutions for individual and global challenges. I.C.E will increase the sustainability of the creative economy in The Bahamas.

I.C.E as an ecosystem

It aims to promote S.T.E.A.M Education through an interdisciplinary culture. A variety of experential learning and professional development opportunities will be designed to support like-minded creatives and innovators in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics. I.C.E's philosophy hopes to stimulate the creation of cutting-edge jobs; and increase the sustainability of the Bahamian creative economy in regional and global markets.

Our Team

We are a team of creative doers, working to build a global community that values personal and business development and prioritises wellness. We are focused on creating an atmosphere that encourages growth and harnesses the power of international interdisciplinary networking and collaboration.

Our Facilities

Our one acre property houses Antonius Roberts’ Sculpting studio, Lend a Hand’s Hope center, our Garden and our 9000sq foot co-working community hub.

The property has undergone much transformation and both the Lend a Hand Hope center and the AR sculpting studio are fully operational.

The formerly derelict warehouse is still undergoing transformation as part of our phased project. The warehouse has 8 demarcated spaces that are organically developing into designated spaces. The warehouse’s roofing must be redone, walls need patching and painting and we must extend the existing solar network to the hub. We intend to maintain as much rawness of the space as is possible. Currently, the Central Bank of The Bahamas has adopted a room which is set to become our Technological room. Our Gallery and Cubes workspace will soon be up and running. Next, we will activate the open and studio working spaces.

Target Audience

As an incubator/hub, we believe in the inventive power of collaboration and have built a space designed to initiate and grow connections. Project I.C.E is for creatives of all S.T.E.A.M (science, technology, engineering, art and math) and S.T.E.A.M adjacent disciplines that are excited about collective brilliance.

I.C.E Meaning

I.C.E is an acronym for Incubator for Collaborative expression. We refer to I.C.E primarily as Project I.C.E because the word ‘project’ clearly provides a way to understand this incubator/hub as a work in progress. This project is developing organically as resources and funding become more available.
